Gizmo was working in the science lab one evening when his best friend, Kari, stopped by. They loved to do science experiments together. Gizmo excitedly turned to his friend and said, “They say life is all about balance. Let’s put that to the test and learn about points of gravity and how things balance.”
“I’m game,” said Kari! They put on their safety googles, grabbed their supplies, and got to work.
YOU WILL NEED:
A cup
A sharpened pencil
A ball of clay or dough
2 forks
First, push the pencil through the center of the clay carefully. Then try to place the pencil on the top of the flipped over cup. Notice how the pencil falls over? This is due to gravity…it must fall down. Now slide the forks into the clay on opposite sides of each other. Place the pencil, with the clay and the forks, back on the cup. Play around with the position of the forks until you the pencil balanced!
